In the dark of the long night, there is also romance to be had. A wedding day is more or less a gathering, a celebration, and a damn good reason to eat, drink, and be merry. The Cooper Estate could not be a more ideal location for these nuptials. Its historical reception hall, with its medieval grounds and epic foliage is where the magic took place. Invitations flew out to the lords of Westeros, the detailed cake was baked, the royal table set, the delicate white florals cut, and the countless wax candles lit. I’m here to share with you the most epic Game of Thrones wedding ever shot.
Thanks to Lara Rose Photography, we are able to relive the day with stunning images. The couple left their swords and dragons at home in order to portray a truly romantic, bohemian, and dare I say, classy event. Being bound for the throne by lineage, it was royal and detailed; leaving us peasants to the wayside.
The moody reception hall with its long royal table was fit for a king and queen. Between the classic medieval architecture of stone walls, wooden rafters, and a wrought iron chandelier flanking the feast became a showstopper from the moment you entered the massive bolted entrance. The lucky guests ate upon smoky swirled gold chargers, stunning pewter goblets, with a candlelit glow. The centerpiece was created by none other than Flowers Unveiled; they centered their high floral arrangement in a bed of moss, thistle, burgundy blooms, and two stone dragons that appeared to weave in and out of the piece.
Greeting the guests was a stunning charcuterie spread of rustic breads, artisanal cheeses and meats, olives and nuts. Of course, no event in Westeros would be spoken about for ages to come without casks of Dornish red wine.
The cake was designed to appeal to the North with its cues of the wall and golden antlers. Sweet Guilt by Angelica crafted this work of art, and had a place of honor in the hall.
Calligraphy adorned invitation suites with wax seals were curated by Only One Mark Inc to invite our Lords of Westeros, who responded diligently knowing this is an event not to be missed, especially in such dark times.
The lounge was complete with furs, antlers, tasteful design, and medieval doors leading to secret gardens.
We all know the truth behind the secret ceremony of Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark was set amidst the drooping branches in the woods. Our new king and queen paid homage to this sincerely romantic moment in history, and hosted their ceremony under an oak branch adorned with light white fabrics, ivy and delicate florals.
No queen would be complete without an Anna Campbell designer dress and wedding cape, provided by The Bridal Project and her braided locks done by Majestic Hair. For the groom he had customized silver leather lapels crafted by The Lapel Project and a fern twist boutonniere.
The thoughtful details were found in every nook of the event space. From the frayed black dinner napkins, the dragon heads emerging from the table with moss flowing down from their mouths, the wedding rings tucked in a glass case resembling the dragon egg display, draped furs, and antlers. This was an unforgettable day worthy of the books of history.
