The Fort Lauderdale Historical Society is truly an ideal location for a soft, feminine, rustic event. It's old yellow and white trim mansion is flanked by a lush, mature oak tree garden along the intracoastal way. The tall oaks create a perfect support system for unique lighting, including stringing Market Lights and blending it into the backdrop by lacing Spanish Moss in between the bulbs. The rose gold chargers and flatware collection compliment the green cascading centerpiece dotted with plum-colored florals on top of Garson farmers tables beautifully.
Beyond the reception table, the cake needed to be delicately framed with the white gazebos on the premises. The blush-brushed bottom tier of the organic chocolate cake was filled with Earl Grey buttercream as the base for the Birchwood stenciled cake which was filled with pink lemonade and raspberry buttercream. To help frame the scene, a petite chandelier was hung above the white, oval table flanked by 2 blush chaise arm chairs and unique decor. The gazebo was beautifully framed by our florists at the entrance, creating an archway with two large cascading urns on either side of the cake scene.
What is a rustic themed wedding without whisky? A 10 foot long farmers table was placed on the porch of the historical building, and on it stood extra tall antique candelabras at either end. In the center our florists designed a beautiful centerpiece that filled in the space between the water and the whisky. Two large spigots were filled with strawberry mint water and lemon rosemary water. Nearby were two gourmet cheese trays filled with herbed mozzarella, goat cheese, prochiutto, capicola, pickles, and olives. Details on the table included unique calligraphy filled chalkboards, antlers, and eucalyptus trimming.
Finally, the lounge was tucked into a lush nook of palms in front of the house, perfectly framing our Boudoir Sofa, side tables with antiques, and their black labrador lounging nearby with its customized flower collar.
Of course, none of this beautiful theme would have been possible without the talented vendors who put their creative talent to work for this photoshoot. Please check out their work in the links at the bottom!
